2014 Summer Camp Downpayment

Scouts, you have one more scout meeting to lock in last year’s Summer Camp rate of $260 for next summer.  To lock in last year’s rate, you will need to m
ake your non-refundable deposit of $30 by Monday, October 14 (check payable to “Troop 400”).    This is a deal through Cris Dobbins, not through our Troop.  If it were up to us, everyone would get last year’s rate.  
There are over 40 different merit badges to choose from (for a sample list, check out the bottom off this email) as well as other activities such as making cinematography videos, rappelling, games, pool parties, campfires, trail rides, lake activities, skill demos, etc.
Action Item #1 –>  Talk to your parent/guardian about Summer Camp.  If you know you want to go, write a check today and stick it in your Scout shirt pocket for next Monday.
Action Item #2 –>  Email me to let me know you want to go to Summer Camp and that you have a check in your Scout shirt pocket for next Monday.  Next Monday, I will help you remember, so that we can get you last year’s rate.
That said, should you not make a deposit now but later decide to attend camp – no problem!  We can always add you but then Cris Dobbins charges the current 2014 rate of $275.  Cris Dobbins requires a deposit by February 2014 to lock in a spot for Summer Camp.  After that, it depends upon space / availability for a late registration.
Be Thrifty – If you make a non-refundable deposit next Monday then your rate is $260.  If you do not make a non-refundable deposit by next Monday, then your rate is $275.  Either way, the next Summer Camp payment will be due Monday, February 17, 2014.  If you make a $30 deposit now, you will owe $45 in February - $10 of that next payment will also be non-refundable.  If you do not make a deposit now, you will owe $90 in February – $40 of that payment will be non-refundable.
As per the Denver Area Council (not Troop 400):  If a cancellation is made before May 15, 2014, participants will receive a full refund less a $40 non-refundable deposit.  If a cancellation is made on or after May 15, 2014, no fees will be refunded unless documented by a medical doctor or a death in the family.   (DAC rules, not ours).
